Image credit: HomeDSGNStill under construction, the Hydropolis Underwater Hotel and Resort in Dubai will become the world's first luxury underwater hotel. With an estimated construction cost of USD 550 million, it will be one of the most expensive hotels ever built.
This ultra-modern luxury hotel will feature three segments: the land station, where guests will be welcomed, the connecting subway, which will transport people to the centre of the hotel, and the 220 suites within the underwater leisure complex. The hotel was initially set to open in 2006 and then postponed to 2009. Unfortunately, the exact opening date of the promising Hydropolis is still undetermined due to financial and technical reasons. We’ll just wait and see how it goes in the next few years.
