Just when we thought we’ve already done every romantic date idea in Singapore, we discovered a newly opened hotel in Sentosa that’s perfect for couples — The Outpost Hotel. We got excited and curious so we booked a room for an intimate, out-of-the-usual date trip.
Upon entering the hotel, we were immediately impressed by the minimalistic yet strong earthy tones of the interior. The floor-to-ceiling windows also allowed plenty of sunlight, illuminating the entire lobby. The hotel did a stellar job in seamlessly fusing modern aesthetics with natural elements. Upon check-in, we also received a welcome drink — a unique mocktail mixed by The Outpost Hotel team themselves. The special drink was made of different tropical fruits and a special tea blend that cannot be found anywhere else. What an interesting start to our romantic staycation!
From the bespoke amenities to the excellent service, the hotel won us over. Are we staying here again to celebrate another relationship milestone? We definitely will! Read our entire The Outpost Hotel review to see what awaits you at this lovely hotel.
The Outpost Hotel has three types of Deluxe Rooms with different views: Sea View, Pool View, and Island View.
While we stayed at the Sea View room, we also had the chance to take a peek at the Pool View and Island View rooms. All rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and tastefully designed with black, brown, and white hues. We were also treated to specially curated amenities and services such as ultra comfy pillow mist kits, one-of-a-kind tea blends, and a customisable minibar.
The highlight, of course, are the floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing natural light to pass through, and letting us take in the natural beauty of the surroundings from the comfort of our own rooms.
Our Sea View room definitely met our expectations — from the stylish interior and special amenities to the magnificent sea views!
As we walked inside, our customised complimentary minibar had already been sent to our room. Nespresso capsules and tea tins were also on the vanity. The Outpost Hotel provides coffee capsules for each room, as well as the hotel’s heritage bespoke tea blends by Pryce Tea. And, we could also easily drink water directly from the Hyflux Filtered Water Tap. There was no need for us to step outside our room to get a drink or two.
After a long day exploring Sentosa and beyond, we wound down with a long shower and curled up in bed as we spent the night watching some movies. We probably used up all the exquisite toilet amenities from APPELLES Apothecary & Lab because they smelled good and soothing.
In the morning, we woke up to stunning views of the cerulean sea fringed by some greenery. This was really our deciding factor in booking the Sea View room, and we were totally sold after staying here!

With a well-appointed bar and three pools inspired by coastal habitats from across the globe, the Pool Deck is certainly one of The Outpost Hotel’s standout features. No matter where you decide to hang out, each spot is perfectly designed for spending quality time with your significant other.
We visited The Outpost Hotel’s Pool Deck where there were three kinds of pools for us to try. We chose to hang out in the Lazy River Pool first. It was just us lazily drifting along the currents and enjoying some shade from the bright sun, thanks to the trees along the Lazy River Pool.
We then headed down to the Pamukkale Pool, laid down on the cabanas as we waited for the breathtaking sunset. The Pamukkale Pool is tagged as the best place in The Outpost Hotel to enjoy the sunset, so there were many couples like us gathering around the pool during the golden hour.
Right after, we decided to hit up the nearby pool bar to get a drink. The menu consisted of many cocktail options, with some unique concoctions specially created by the bartenders. Upon their recommendation, we tried out their special cocktails.
Even after finishing our cocktails, we decided to stay at the Pamukkale Pool, as we wanted to see the fireworks of the Wings of Time show. Taking our spot at the edge of the pool, we waited for the moment when the fireworks would finally appear.
What a way to end the day! Plus, as if all that weren’t enough, The Outpost Hotel will be opening their rooftop pool bar within the first quarter of 2020!
As part of our romantic weekend, we wanted to have a unique and memorable dining experience. After getting some recommendations from the concierge, we decided to have lunch at table65. The Michelin-starred establishment is known for their avant-garde Modern European cuisine.
Witnessing the food preparation upfront was the highlight of our lunch. We watched the chef in action as he explained the inspiration behind each dish as well as their ingredients. The presentation of each dish (even the desserts) was well-thought-of! To cap off our main meal, we tried the signature Apple, a dessert made of green apple sorbet enclosed in a transparent sugar glass bubble. It was so pretty and tantalising, we didn’t want to consume it quickly.
Overall, our lunch at table65 offered a new and different dining experience. We highly recommend this for couples looking for romantic date options that are beyond the usual.
Note: table65 is open for dinner from 6.30pm to 10.30pm from Tuesday to Saturday. On Saturdays, you can also come by for lunch between 12pm to 2pm.
While on vacation, we always make it a point to work on those extra calories we got from all the food indulgence. Luckily, The Outpost Hotel has a gym that is open 24 hours. Yes, it’s a rare treat to use gym facilities 24/7 so we took advantage of that. The gym is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including treadmills and weights. We also liked how there were fresh towels and filtered water available in the gym, so we only had to bring ourselves, and we’re good to sweat it out any time of the day!
As we are usually busy, we wanted our romantic weekend to be just about us. We found out that The Outpost Hotel is exclusive to guests above 12 years old. This was part of the hotel’s tailored experience for couples looking for a romantic getaway. It also means that young children will not have access into the hotel, including the exclusive rooftop pool and bar area. Talk about privacy and intimacy at its finest!
After our check-in procedure, we were ushered to the product display corner before being handed a pink metal basket. We were told that we could choose five items for our own personalised minibar. This came as a surprise to us since most hotels charge their guests for consuming minibar items.
When the drawers were opened, we saw many different kinds of drinks and snacks to our liking. There’s Tyrrell potato chips, Hershey’s chocolate bars, and Eumenthol jujubes. There was even Starbucks’s signature chocolate drink, which happens to be one of our go-to beverages!
While every hotel provides drinks in their rooms, most of them are often generic coffee and tea brands. Thus, we did not expect The Outpost Hotel to provide us with bespoke tea during our stay with them. These bespoke teas are made specially for The Outpost Hotel, and come with interesting names like Palawan Dawn and Siloso Night! According to the staff, the tea blends are a special collaboration between The Outpost Hotel and local tea company Pryce Tea that are inspired by Sentosa Island’s rich history, so we would not be able to get them anywhere else. However, they are available for sale at the hotel reception — these make for gifts and souvenirs, as we certainly cannot get them anywhere else in the world!

Transportation is never difficult in Singapore! Should you wish to go to The Outpost Hotel from Changi Airport by bus, the journey will take 1 hour and 45 minutes. You have to board bus service 36 from either Terminal 2 or 4. From bus service 36, get off at Mountbatten Road and hop on bus service 10. Then get off at Telok Blangah Road in Vivo City (Bonus: The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to Vivo City!). Board the Sentosa Station monorail and hop off at Imbiah Station. The Outpost Hotel should be approximately 150 metres away from Imbiah.
If you want to take a taxi instead, you can easily hail one in any Changi Airport terminal. This option will only take you approximately 20 minutes to get to the hotel. Keep in mind that airport surcharges will apply to the metered fares!
For that once-in-a-lifetime experience, consider taking a romantic cruise and dining aboard the only luxury Tall Ship in Singapore. The Royal Albatross, refitted 22 sails, looks like a classy European boat built just for the elite. But despite its lavish appearance, we were happy to find out that the experience didn’t break the bank for us interested diners!
You can choose between their sunset and night cruises, which offer different (but equally romantic) views of the Singapore skyline. Each cruise also comes with a three-course dinner and live onboard entertainment. In addition, adventure-loving couples like us may want to level up their cruise experience with a mast climb — that is, a 21-metre climb above the ship’s deck for even more impressive views of the skyline!
Thrill-seekers are in for a treat! At Sentosa, you can choose from a wide selection of activities available at three ultimate adventure destinations: Megazip Adventure Park, AJ Hackett, and Ola Beach Club.
Head down to Mega Adventure Park and experience Asia’s longest zipline. Take in everything around as you zip from the jungles of Imbiah Hill to Siloso’s white sandy beach! Then, visit AJ Hackett and dare to bungee jump or try out the giant swing ride with your partner. Head to Ola Beach for some thrilling water activities too! Fly around with a water-propelled jetpack or take a ride on a banana boat.
The best part? You get discounts at AJ Hackett just for staying at The Outpost Hotel Sentosa! All you have to do is to show your key card for S$20 off Bungy Jump (per pax), S$10 off Giant Swing (per pax) and free Skybridge access (up to 2 pax).
Located away from the hustle and bustle of mainland Singapore, ESPA is the island nation’s premier spa destination. Here, you can pamper yourselves with their wide array of treatments, or take part in their day retreats to cleanse both minds and bodies. We made our way here after we’ve ticked off the activities we wanted to experience in the city, and we didn’t regret it!
If you’re looking for something unique, you can get a cleansing ritual at Singapore’s very first authentic Turkish Hammam. Couples can also choose to enjoy their treatments in private by booking an ESPA Suite, complete with exclusive access to one of their sumptuous villas.
No matter the treatment you decide on, you will also be granted use of ESPA’s excellent facilities, including a myriad of relaxing pools. We recommend taking a rejuvenating soak in the Vitality Pools and Forest Onsen-style Pools, and capping off your luxury spa experience at the Crystal Steam Rooms — which was exactly what we did!
