“Thoughtful service was a mong the aspects that I love about the hotel. Efficient and friendly staff were at hand to provide my needs from the room to airport transfers.”
Hotel Boss seemed to us as nothing more than a nondescript hotel that doesn’t boast of much, yet is one that has its guests leaving more than satisfied. With accessibility, convenience and affordability as its main selling points, Hotel Boss offers a stay right in the heart of Singapore – at an extremely modest price tag. Imagine our surprise when we found out that Hotel Boss is actually the second largest hotel in Singapore with a total of 1,500 rooms, coming in right after Marina Bay Sands. Bet you didn’t see that coming!
Situated only a three-minute walk away from Lavender MRT station, getting to Hotel Boss is extremely easy. This also meant that travelling around Singapore was a total breeze for us! But we didn’t even have to take the public transport to start our adventure; for the districts of Bugis, Kampong Glam and Little India are found just a stone’s throw away from the hotel.
At Hotel Boss, comfort is of utmost importance. Cost is secondary, though we found that whatever we were paying for was worth our every cent. Say hello to cosy rooms and basic amenities, alongside a sky terrace, outdoor pool and gym – all at incredibly affordable prices that’ll put a smile on the face of even the most money-conscious traveller. All rooms are also equipped with an electronic safe to store important valuables. Cleverly hidden away in one of the drawers, we could easily enjoy our stay here with a peace of mind knowing that our things were in safe hands.

Perk up the morning with a cup of coffee or tea, which are complimentary for all guests to enjoy. There’s also a mini refrigerator for us to store the goodies we bought from the convenience store downstairs. Our ice-creams were still cold and yummy when we took them out the next day!

The perfect room choice for guests travelling with their families, the Family (Balcony) comes with two queen beds. With more than adequate space for four persons, this room also has a private balcony overlooking the atrium – excellent for some good ole family bonding time. The Standard Double is the most basic option out of all the rooms, but it surely doesn’t deliver any less comfort. Indeed, we felt right at home within its cosy interior that overlooks the atrium of this Singapore hotel.
Standard Twin
Travelling with a friend and looking for an option that’s not overly fancy? Look no further than Hotel Boss’ Standard Twin room! Fitted with two single beds, it gave us a little bit more of our own privacy and space while still sharing the same room in this hotel in Singapore.
Superior Double
The Superior Double comes with an elegantly-designed bathroom, where we took a refreshing shower after a long day out. The 40” LED SmartTV was a nice touch as well; it allowed us to surf the Internet, stream Youtube in HD, as well as gain access to hotel information, guest services and how to get around this hotel near Bugis. We could even toggle to the World Radio Station and listen to some tunes!
Superior Twin

Here, all rooms come with complimentary WiFi access, with each room having its own unique password – which means that we could still stay connected with all our friends and update our Instagram with loads of vacation pictures from this hotel in Singapore!
Superior Double (City View)
We woke up to lovely city views in the Superior Double (City View) room. The large glass window is perfect for staring out at the skyline; it was admittedly rather difficult for us to even get out of bed!

With two single beds and a view overlooking the city skyline, believe us when we say we really made ourselves comfortable and didn’t want to leave. Remember to call dibs on the bed closest to the window to get the best views!

The Premier is an excellent choice for couples who’d like to take their vacation up a notch in this Singapore hotel. Tuck each other into bed, order room service and dine in bed for a cosy experience. We also have to say that the red armchair sitting in the corner of the room also adds that extra touch of class to the decor!

A fresh new addition to this hotel in Singapore, Gloria Jean’s Coffees is located on the first floor just next to Lobby A. After feeling a little tired and worn out from walking around the whole day, we dropped by Gloria Jean’s for a cup of coffee and some sweet treats to replenish our energy! It was lovely to just sit back, relax and enjoy the lovely ambience of the hotel lobby while we took our time to savour our drinks.
Be spoilt for choice
during mealtimes
This was the thing that we really looked forward to – indulging in a sumptuous buffet breakfast. Available at Papasan 17 and Jubilicious, these two restaurants serve up hearty breakfasts that comprise Asian and Western cuisines. Muslim guests, you don’t have to worry – Jubilicious is Halal-certified, so go ahead and eat your fill. Our favourite was the roast potatoes, which we simply could not get enough of. Try them for yourselves to see what we mean!
The buffet breakfast is available from 6:30am until 10:30am, after which you may also enjoy other A La Carte items off the restaurants’ standard menus.
Craving for some local fare? Head to Kopi Roti, where a myriad of toasts and local delights await you. However, we were feeling more for Chinese food, and the adjacent Nan Jing Restaurant provided just the venue.
Live life in the slow lane
The Sky Terrace on the 4th floor of the building provides guests with a place where they can take a step back, relax and enjoy a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life below. We even made a couple of new friends here!
Take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool or recline in one of the chairs by the poolside (and maybe, even have a little snooze). As we didn’t bring our swimwear with us this time, we settled for dipping our toes in the water and lounging in the chairs by the pool. We’ll be back with our swimsuits next time!
Towels are also made available for guests to use near the toilets at no additional charge. Talk about being thoughtful!
We liked the thought of keeping fit whilst on vacation, and loved the option of working up a sweat in the gym overlooking the pool. Of course, whether we took that option up or not remains a secret!
For a quick massage fix, we settled in one of the Rest N Go chairs at the Sky Terrace and felt refreshed within minutes. For something a little more indulgent, Qili Foot Massage offers foot reflexology, neck and body massage, full body massage, as well as manicure and pedicure services.
Feeling peckish in the middle of the night and craving for something to munch on? Located nearby, you can find a 24-hour Convenience Store where you can get all the snacks you need and quell your late night hunger pangs!
Worried that the kids are going to be bored during your stay here? Don’t fret! The hotel has its very own indoor children’s playground to keep the little ones entertained – no matter rain or shine! The hotel’s self-service laundromat can also be found just a few steps away from the playground, allowing parents to keep an eye on their children whilst doing laundry.
Craving a warm and hearty local meal? You do not have to go far. Located at the hotel itself, you can find a famous stall, Founder Bak Kut Teh! With such delicious local fare available within reach, there is no need for you to travel long and far to find a scrumptious meal.
