In the heart of the Philippine capital’s bustling business district lies a Makati hotel that serves as a beacon for Malaysian hospitality. It takes everyone’s preferences into consideration, as it is a Halal-certified establishment. A true oasis for urbanites, Berjaya Makati Hotel offers weary travellers respite from the city’s unending thrum.
As much as we loved being so near everything on this side of Metro Manila, we also valued peace and quiet at the end of the day. We were in search of a place to hunker down after traversing the city, and this hotel in Makati ticked off everything on our list. It was cosy, convenient, and above all, secure. Berjaya Makati Hotel is one of the first properties in Metro Manila to successfully adhere to COVID-19 protocols, assuring guests that their safety and health are at the tippy top of this Makati hotel’s priorities.
Upon arriving, the first thing we noticed was the stringent checking of guests’ temperatures at all hotel entrances. Visitors were also required to fill out Health Declaration Checklists, which put us more at ease. Other proactive measures such as social distancing, regular sanitising, and limiting lifts’ carrying capacity were also carried out. As far as keeping the hotel ready for travel and tourism’s ‘new normal’, Berjaya Makati Hotel exceeds expectations.
The Makati hotel also aces service and accommodations. Staff were constantly warm and accommodating; we felt at home the entire time. We learned that Berjaya Makati Hotel’s Premier Rooms were recently given a facelift, so its amenities afforded us a completely comfortable and hassle-free stay. Seeing as we were in the city, one of our considerations in finding a hotel in Makati was the availability of an indoor swimming pool to escape the heat — Berjaya Makati Hotel offered this, too.
Perhaps what we loved most about this hotel in Makati was that it gave us the best of both worlds. We were always a stone’s throw away from the rest of the area: malls, pharmacies, restaurants, open spaces for walking — take your pick. Yet on days when we didn’t want to step out even for a bite, Berjaya Makati Hotel’s in-house restaurants offered superb dine-in and room service options.
If you haven’t pinned down where to stay in Makati that’s modern yet homey, and conveniently located in the centre yet safe, your search is over. Read the rest of this Berjaya Makati hotel review to know more about your next Muslim-friendly city dwelling in the Philippines.
Don’t be fooled by this Makati hotel’s basic offering. The Deluxe Room gives guests the most bang for their buck, with a cosy sanctuary that’s sure to afford you the rest you deserve. At 31sqm, it brims with amenities that cover everything you’ll need for a staycation. Soak in your own bathtub for me-time; Available minibar for your own storage convenience; and get chores done in the comforts of your own room, thanks to ironing paraphernalia!
The Deluxe Studio room is as well-appointed as the Deluxe Room. Wooden furnishings and its classic layout set the tone for being your lush home away from home! But there’s more to this room, literally — it offers more space at 47 sqm. With more room to stretch, follows more room for well-deserved rest and recreation. What's more, if you book this accommodation from now until 30 Dec 2020, you can enjoy a Long Stay discount of up to 60% off!
Think the Deluxe Room, but its upgraded counterpart. A business hotel with a heart for leisure, Berjaya Makati Hotel’s living spaces are the epitome of balance. Even with the way it is designed, guests are treated to the perfect in-between. The Premier Room merges classic and contemporary. Its interiors are both cosy and chic. While it is made sleek by muted tones of brown, white, and grey, the space remains warm and inviting, thanks to mood lighting and tasteful wooden furnishings.
We couldn’t have asked for better accommodations during our stay at this hotel in Makati. The Premier Studio had all the amenities we required, plus it was a beautifully designed space to come home to every day. What we loved most about it was its living nook, which was separate from the bedroom. At 47 sqm, it was more than enough room for two travellers eager to establish our own comfort zone in the city. Berjaya Makati Hotel’s Premier Studios are newly renovated, so you get to enjoy brand new features when you book this offering.
Foodies, you’re in for a treat! Prepare for a gastronomical affair every time you step into Berjaya Makati Hotel’s in-house restaurants, El Prado and El Paseo. You’re certainly in good hands with Executive Chef RJ Malabay, whose creations and top picks are sure to impress.
The cuisine here is mouthwatering and filling. With a myriad of selections, you’ll feel like you’re travelling around the world with every bite! Take your pick from Filipino, Malaysian, and Indian favourites to continental comfort food. Our Muslim friends were happy to know that Berjaya Makati Hotel also has a Halal kitchen; just ask the friendly waiters which specials are certified like we did, and enjoy. To fully appreciate Berjaya Makati Hotel’s scrumptious offerings, note its updated F&B and room service hours: 6am to 9pm daily.
Almost all nights of the week, the lobby bar Las Ramblas comes alive with music. We highly recommend pairing one of their signature cocktails with tunes courtesy of the live band. Can’t decide on your tipple? Ask the bartender to whip up something sweet and smooth.
Don’t miss out on leisure and event facilities. In fact, why don’t you try them all? Social gatherings have been limited in the Metro, but you can still enjoy this Makati hotel’s well-appointed function rooms with the prescribed headcount! Let Berjaya Makati Hotel take care of events and business meetings that are both meaningful and intimate.
Love leisure? The indoor pool is great for cooling down; we made sure to do a few laps daily. There’s also a gym for burning all those calories you’ll consume at El Prado. And of course, the in-house spa is a go-to for soothing aches and muscle knots — absolute bliss!
Availability of outlets and facilities may vary due to government regulations and restrictions.
Run by the Malaysian hospitality group Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, Berjaya Makati Hotel prides itself on being 100% Muslim-friendly. Aside from a kitchen that boasts Halal certification from the Halal International Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the Philippines, prayer amenities were also well-thought of. There is a prayer area for our Muslim brothers and sisters, and all rooms come equipped with a Qibla signage or finder.
