Hotel Boss knows what the everyday traveller wants – and delivers it well.
Hotel Boss caters perfectly well to the needs of the value-conscious, modern day traveller. This spanking new hotel opened just last year, housing a whopping 1,500 rooms. Yes, Hotel Boss is big in size, but we discovered that it is even bigger in value! Their comfortable rooms are equipped with all the standard facilities you’d expect, and more.
If anything, Hotel Boss’ strategic location is its main pulling factor. Hotel Boss is tucked in a homely neighbourhood, within reach by a 3-minute walk from Lavender MRT station.
It is also a stone’s throw away from two cultural enclaves – Kampong Glam and Little India – which is teeming with shops, cafes and bars.
The various vantage points in Hotel Boss, whether it is the balcony or the sky terrace, serve to showcase the stunning views of the vicinity.
More than that, we were even able to pick our sightseeing destinations by playing spot-the-landmarks: Sultan Mosque, Mustafa Centre, Singapore Sports Hub, the colourful Rochor Centre, The Singapore Flyer and even Gardens by the Bay!
Hotel Boss offers a variety of rooms, from the standard double to those offering extra perks such as city views or a spacious balcony.
The main highlight of the Premier (balcony) room is hands-down the sweeping panoramic views from the balcony, featuring a colourful amalgamation of skyscrapers, shophouses, HDB flats and lush greenery. We never felt cooped up in our hotel room; a private spacious oasis that we can call our own was just steps away.
In fact, we always felt rather reluctant to leave the room! Chill out on the lounge chair and sip a drink, read a book or listen to the city sounds from high above… the choices were lovely! Who knew the difference a balcony could make to a vacation?
A nice touch that the modern-day travellers will appreciate is the USB plug socket. Ditch those adaptors and simply plug in to charge those electronics. Also very importantly, each room comes with complimentary high-speed WiFi access!
A tastefully designed room for the whole family, and an attached balcony overlooking the atrium for the moments you need that breath of fresh air.
This family (balcony) room, with two comfortable queen-sized beds, fits four persons. We think that it’s time to gather the family for a special bonding occasion!
On top of a mini refrigerator and tea-making facilities with complimentary beverages, guests will also have an in-room electronic safe for that added ease of mind.Check Availability

A stay in Hotel Boss is not complete without stepping into the 4th floor Sky Terrace.
The star of the show is the outdoor swimming pool, flanked by the gym-with-a-view and a garden. Take a dip, sweat it out or do both!
We chose to hunt down the secret short trail in the garden and then laze around by the poolside, which are great options too!
The Sky Terrace, with its large open spaces, gives that roomy, laid-back atmosphere that we love. If you have little ones with you, let them loose at the little playground while you lie back for a massage at the nearby Rest-N-Go station.
Hotel Boss offers two restaurant options for buffet breakfast: Papasan 17 (Non-Halal) at Level 1 and Jubilicious (Halal) at Level 4. Book your room together with breakfast so you can wake up to a delicious spread of Asian with a tinge of Western feast.
We didn’t have to step far away from Hotel Boss to get our fix of great food, from affordable hawker fare to the fancy bistro menu. Hotel Boss is home to a variety of tenants, serving to benefit hotel guests like ourselves.
At the alley along the main entrance of Hotel Boss, we found Sushi Deli, Nan Jing Restaurant and TICM Gelato Cocktail Bar + Dining. There is also an outlet of the famous Founder Bak Kut Teh, as well as FoodClique, an excellent food court boasting a range of local fare from hainanese chicken rice to ban mian. Some of the stalls are open 24/7 which is a bonus for the hungry insomniacs!
Along the side of the building on the ground floor, there is Gills N Shells, with its ocean-inspired menu and modern decor, and Canal 18, a tapas and bar.
For those craving little munchies, there is Jollibee, Nanyang Bakery and a 24/7 Cheers outlet. Tourists looking to bring home a memento of Singapore should drop by Viva Style, a souvenir shop with all sorts of uniquely-Singapore memorabilia, from T-shirts and bags to little pouches and magnets. We particularly enjoyed browsing in House of Chocolates which is filled with no lack of sweets, biscuits, souvenir-snacks and of course, chocolates!
After a long day of sightseeing and being on your feet, retreat to Qiji Foot Massage to ease all your body tensions away. They provide not only foot reflexology but neck and shoulder massage, body massage and manicure services. There is a 10% discount for guests of Hotel Boss; simply display your room key upon payment!
As you approach Hotel Boss from Lavender MRT or while you’re circling the perimeter of the hotel, you’ll come upon the public outdoor plaza. Look up and you’ll see the impressive shiny blue facade of Hotel Boss. Walk towards the railings and you’ll find yourself gazing at Rochor River. This area surrounding Hotel Boss is a great place to hang out with your friends or family, or simply to soak in the neighbourhood vibes.
We’re not surprised if many people know that Marina Bay Sands is the largest hotel in Singapore. What many don’t know is that Hotel Boss is the SECOND BIGGEST! We already mentioned it has 1500 rooms – this means about 100 rooms every floor!
Yes, you can actually view the yearly fireworks display – if it’s happening in National Stadium or Marina Bay floating platform – from Hotel Boss! So you know what to do for next year’s NDP celebration! *hint hint*
Remember we mentioned FoodClique as one of the dining options in Hotel Boss? In this food court, you can find Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice, one of Singapore’s most famous chicken rice hawker stall. Just the scent of the fragrant rice will get you ready to sink your teeth into the succulent chicken meat. Their outlet in Maxwell Food Centre always has a long queue, but not this one, so lucky you!

Location is one of the key selling points of Hotel Boss. Tons of attractions are in the vicinity and to venture further, the MRT station is just steps away!
Kampong Glam is a cultural enclave with Malay and Arab influences. This area, while steeped in heritage and history, has trendy modern features like an abundance of hipster cafes. In the day, you can explore textile and handicraft shops, boutique clothing stores and dine in one of the many restaurants serving a range of cuisines from Turkish to Thai. At night, when the bars open up and the crowds start rolling in, this place truly comes alive.
Walking around the Kampong Glam area is a delight. There are surprises around many corners which come in the form of bold, eye-catching graffiti. We spotted quite a few and couldn’t help but to start snapping away. Huge walls are splashed with colours, especially along Haji land, Aliwal Street and Victoria Street. Who says you can’t find street art in Singapore?
The impressive Sultan Mosque is one of the most stunning religious buildings in Singapore. It is located within the Kampong Glam district, and is quite unmissable – just look out for the golden dome or follow the sound of the prayer call if you hear it. Sultan Mosque was built in 1824 for the first sultan of Singapore, Sultan Hussein Shah, and it was declared a national monument in 1975.
The Bugis area is a shopping paradise, with malls like Bugis Junction, Bugis+ and Golden Mile Complex. If you’re looking for great bargains and souvenirs, Bugis Street Market is your answer. Scour around to land a good bargain; you can find clothes, shoes, mobile accessories and so much more. Expect Bugis Street Market to be crowded and at times even stuffy. Embrace it like we always do – this is just part of the shopping experience!
