A home for both business and leisure travellers who seek an all-out convenience of tours, food, and accommodation
The Legend Palawan hotel in Puerto Princesa was the best kind of accommodation we could have hoped to find in the capital city of Palawan where so many tourists flock. We all know that Puerto Princesa is iconic for its pristine shores, coral reefs, and limestone cliffs. With so many people in the city for their Palawan vacation, anyone would be lucky to find a relaxing accommodation that can also arrange tours for you to see the famous beaches, explore caves, and swim with Palawan’s marine biodiversity. That’s exactly what The Legend Palawan offers its guests, and what we experienced firsthand.
The hotel partners with Legendary Tours to provide their guests with the ultimate Palawan experience of packaged tours around Puerto Princesa’s main tourist attractions. Aside from this, The Legend Palawan doesn’t fall short of delicious culinary feasts – their most famous treat being their Banana Bread. Special events also take place at the Palawan Convention Center where families, friends, and colleagues may celebrate life’s milestones. It becomes even more convenient with how strategic the hotel’s location is to other commercial establishments. We didn’t run out of things to do at all. We’ll definitely come back! Read our entire The Legend Palawan hotel review to explore the many different facilities and amenities of this property.
Families with small children and travelling groups will find the Superior Room perfect for them. All of the hotel’s accommodations have air-conditioning, cable TV, and internet connection, but this particular room can fit up to three adults and two kids. It has one double bed and one single bed covered with tangerine and off-white beddings, a calming vision to the eyes as one lays down and unwinds after a full day of outdoor activities. Plus, such an intimate setting is ideal for bonding with your family and friends.
If you’re travelling with an even bigger group, the Deluxe Room should see to your needs. It can sleep up to four adults and two kids with its two double beds. Like the rest of the accommodations, this room has internet access and cable TV for you and your children’s entertainment. Also, once you book any of the hotel’s accommodations, you already get a free round-trip airport transfer. Talk about convenience!
As we entered the Junior Suite, the first things we noticed in the 31 sqm room were the additional couches and the big painting hung above the bed. The suite had an elegant rustic feel to it with wooden framed painting and mirrors. Its furniture consisted of green, yellow and brown hues that echoed a traditional Filipino home. The room can sleep two adults and two children with its king-sized bed. Although, our favourite aspect of the room was how its lighting gave the whole room a warm glow.
The Executive Suite is one of the biggest accommodations The Legend Palawan has. The room is 46 sqm with a private bedroom and a separate receiving area. It can sleep up to two adults and two kids, but it is most ideal for couples on a romantic getaway in Puerto Princesa. Bathed in yellow light like the Junior Suite, this suite’s ambience and spaciousness made us want to just chill here for the length of our vacation.
The Presidential Suite is even bigger than the Executive Suite at 51 sqm. You get to enjoy a view of mother nature outside the hotel, with the natural sunlight streaming through the big bedroom window. The bedroom also has a luxurious king-sized bed that can accommodate two adults, and even two kids if need be. You can also host your own guests in the receiving area. Enjoy your vacation in this classic and elegantly designed suite for the ultimate de-stressed vacation in Puerto Princesa.

Book NowWhen you stay in The Legend Palawan, you easily get access to the Legendary Tours. We can confidently say that our trip to Puerto Princesa wouldn’t have been the same without the convenient and fun travel packages of Legendary Tours. Go on island escapes, river cruises, and interact with marine biodiversity by choosing their different tour packages. We personally recommend you visit Isla Pandan. It lies on the eastern shore of Palawan, and is Honda Bay’s greatest asset. Here, you’ll see white sand along with features like beachfront nipa cottages and rentable gears for water sport activities. You can also go whale shark watching and go on the Underground River Tour. Each activity is a feast for the eyes and will surely appease your wanderlust.
Tanglaw Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and an endless supply of snacks from 6am to 10pm! You’ll never go hungry if you’re staying in the hotel all day. Also, don’t forget to try their iconic Banana Bread, a popular “pasalubong” or souvenir from Puerto Princesa. This is also your chance to eat Palawan’s local dishes elevated to world-class standards. You could travel all over the world, but nothing beats classic Filipino cuisine!
If you can’t stand the heat at the beach, you’ll find satisfaction in taking a cool dip in the hotel’s swimming pool, especially at night. The pool is surrounded by cobblestone walls and green plants that are lit up with a warm glow in the evening. Take in the simple and relaxing ambience as you do your laps and get your daily exercise. It’s a good warm up too if ever you plan on snorkelling or diving.
The hotel’s banana bread isn’t like any other famous snack and souvenir in Palawan. It weighs 980 grams and tourists actually buy more than one loaf while making sure they have enough space for these in their luggage. It’s been featured as well in Korina Sanchez’s show, Rated K. So their banana bread has had its few seconds of fame on local television too!
The Legend Palawan’s Convention Center has a very comfortable atmosphere. As we entered the room, wooden accents surrounded the area. It reminded us of a traditional Filipino home, except that this convention centre can accommodate both big and intimate events such as conferences, fairs, and weddings. In its theatre-type setting, it can hold up to 1,100 guests, while its banquet-setting can accommodate up to 650 guests. The centre can also be divided into three smaller halls if the occasion calls for it.
The Legend Hotels International Corporation is 100% Filipino-owned and runs a chain of hotels across the Philippines. They provide Filipinos and foreign tourists accommodations that reflect the best of Filipino taste and hospitality. The Legend Palawan is only one of these home-like hotels, and one of the best that Puerto Princesa has to offer.

The Legend Palawan is accessible to a number of tourist spots. If you feel like going for a morning walk, you can head to the Puerto Princesa City Baywalk and get a good view of the ocean. It’s only an eight-minute drive going there, and you’ll also pass by the Palawan Museum on the way. This museum is also a go-to destination where visitors can understand the culture and history of Palawan better. It houses tribal artefacts, preserved skeletons of the Tabon Man, the Manunggul Jar, and Pagdiwata Structure.
If you want to go shopping, Puerto Princesa isn’t lacking in malls. The closest mall to the hotel is the new SM City Puerto Princesa, which will take no more than three minutes with a quick tricycle ride. Like any other SM Malls, this new branch has boutique stores and a supermarket too, which means you can go grocery shopping and buy easy-to-prepare meals for your island hopping escapades.
We also recommend that you visit the Binuatan Weaving Center. This is a famous handicraft shop wherein weavers create and sell handmade woven items from Palawan’s indigenous fibres. If you’re looking for handy bags, wallets, hats, slippers, placemats, and even curtains, you’ll find them here. Not only would you be supporting a local industry, but you’d be purchasing items unique to Palawan. It’ll only take you 15-20 minutes to get here by taxi from the city proper.
