Nearly every beach resort in the world is just the same: same old features, amenities, activities and food. How do you choose one that will make your stay truly amazing?
We discovered this one-of-a-kind 5-star hotel in the beautiful island of Boracay, Philippines and we were completely taken by surprise. We were treated with such impeccable service the moment we stepped out of the plane: from the airport transfer service to the Ambassador boat to the car going to the hotel room. Think having such service is only for the rich? Well, think again.
Every inch of space in Ambassador in Paradise is something to be enjoyed, from its manicured lawns and beachfront restaurant to its Jacuzzi tubs complete with a breathtaking ocean view. What we especially love about this luxurious resort is its love for the environment; they even come equipped with solar-powered cars and water heaters!
They say that the resort’s Al Fresco Bar and Restaurant by the beach serves among the best food in the island – and we weren’t disappointed! But, really, it wasn’t at all surprising considering that the restaurant’s kitchen is manned by 19 of the best chefs Boracay has ever seen. The restaurant serves both international and Filipino cuisines, as well as a wood-fired pizza oven. Once you have had your fill and are ready to start a long night, you have three bars to choose from.
The Al Fresco Bar can be found right inside the restaurant or, if you are feeling more adventurous, you can head to the Ape Bar for a taste of local beers all over the world. You can also continue having wild parties with your group (and avoid disturbing other guests) when you reserve their Velvet Lounge, which can accommodate up to 50 people. Yes, it is just as sexy as it sounds!
Having access to one of the best beaches in the country is more than enough reason as to why you can’t miss out on fun water activities during your stay at Ambassador in Paradise! Lots of water sports are offered such as parasailing, jet skiing and island hopping. If you want to cap your adventure-filled day with something a little more relaxing and romantic, you can also try out Paraw sailing and catch a beautiful sunset while you’re at it. But, if you’ve had enough of the water, there’s always a handful of land based activities you can do as well.
Be sure to book your planned activities well ahead of time! And don’t worry, a butler will guide you every step of the way (well, except the time you finally get high up in the air on a parasail).
Ahhh… What’s better than waking up inside a 5-star hotel room with world-class amenities and superb service? Well, what about a masseuse (or maybe two?) untying the tired knots of your aching muscles? Spending the whole day in the sea and on land and partying all night will certainly get you exhausted so why not reward yourself with a relaxing massage! And here’s a hint, too: we highly recommend you get their Ambassador Signature massage and get acquainted with three different massage styles. Trust us, you won’t regret it – it’s everyone’s favourite!
...for the environment, that is. Unlike most luxury accommodations in the island, Ambassador in Paradise uses environment-friendly equipment from electric and solar cars to help guests get around to solar panels and biofuel for natural energy. And they will be installing a Hydrogen-based power generator, too!
Aside from the fun-filled water sports, you can also try out lots of adventure activities during your stay. This includes going on various rides including helicopters, bikes, buggy cars and ATVs, motorbikes, ziplines and cable cars, banana boats and fly fishes, speed boats and glass bottom boats and a whole lot more!
Aside from being accredited by the Department of Tourism as an AAA Resort, Ambassador in Paradise has won several awards in the hospitality industry including the recent Luxury Sea View Resort of the Year Award by the Luxury Travel Guide Global Awards 2015.
Guests can reach Ambassador in Paradise via the Kalibo or Caticlan Airport.
For arrivals in Caticlan – Airlines flying into Caticlan only come from Cebu and Manila. From the airport, you can either take a tricycle or walk to the Caticlan Jetty Port, where you can board a ferry going to Boracay.
For arrivals in Kalibo – Airlines flying into Kalibo can either be from Manila, Clark, Taipei, Shanghai, Seoul and Singapore. From the airport, it is a two-hour van or bus ride to the Caticlan Jetty Port.
At the Cagban or Tambisaan Port, you can then hail a tricycle that will bring you to Ambassador in Paradise.
Or, if you want to arrive in style, you can also avail of the resort’s airport-transportation service which will take you from the airport to the Ambassador boat, which will then bring you to the beautiful island of Boracay. On the island, you will be taken either by a van or an electric car to the hotel.
A night or two in Boracay is simply not enough to enjoy EVERYTHING that the island has to offer; trust us, we know. For starters, the location of this fine, luxury resort is located in Station 1 where you can enjoy the powdery white sand beaches like no other. Station 1 is for those who want privacy and seclusion but if you want to mingle with locals and other tourists, you can also head to Station 2 and party all night!
For those who would like to try out more adventurous activities on land, you can also head to Mt. Luho, which is the highest peak of the island. Going there is an adventure itself as you have to ride an ATV or a buggy to reach it.
Boracay’s beach can get a little crowded so if you want to enjoy some privacy by the beach, you can head to Puka Beach located opposite the port. You will have to be careful though as the water is known for its strong current.
