We were in Hanoi for a business trip and wanted to look for a place where we could wind down after a long business meeting. We are glad to say that the Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences ticked all our boxes for the perfect business hotel stay. This Hanoi hotel is situated right in the middle of Nam Tu Liem district — also known as Hanoi’s new business district — so we did not have to travel far after work to reach our accommodation.
While looking at where to stay in Hanoi, we also thought of a hotel that would be convenient to reach from Noi Bai International Airport. And, it just so happens that Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences is less than an hour’s ride away. The hotel feels very modern and sleek with its marble flooring and well-placed furniture in the lobby. The service staff were friendly and the check-in was smooth, with the receptionist even explaining to us all the available facilities of the hotel and all the highlights of the city. All in all, Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences definitely gave us a warm, welcoming vibe that we were truly thankful for. Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences takes pride in its “a wink and a nod” culture. Basically, through its facilities and travel offerings, the hotel gives guests the opportunity to balance work and leisure so that they may maximise their business travel in Hanoi to the fullest. A couple of examples include letting you rent a fish for a “hotel buddy” and offering a laundry service that comes with its own fun tagline, “Look as good as you do on social media. Leave the laundry to us''
But that’s not all, Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences also provides guests with a customised notepad, a menu of pillows for optimum comfort and a complimentary drink voucher so you can have a happy hour of your own! Truly, your stay in the hotel will be anything but boring thanks to the details like these.
We were assigned to the hotel’s Deluxe Room, which had all the amenities that we needed for a good stay in Hanoi. It has an ergonomic work chair and large desk, which allowed us to work in the comfort of our own space. After doing some work inside the room, we would go downstairs to unwind in the hotel pool or work out in the fitness centre. With the hotel’s Sleep Advantage Program, which includes having a specially designed bed and mattress, you can kiss sleepless nights goodbye!
Mostly identical to the Deluxe Room, the added amenities in the Premier Room will make a big difference to your stay experience. This room has fast Wi-Fi access, which allowed us to quickly complete our work online. There is also a free laundry service, so we were able to get our business clothes cleaned and pressed by the professional staff anytime we needed. And get this — you are also entitled to a 20% discount on all F&B services when you stay in this room!
Staying in the Club Room gives you exclusive access to the hotel’s Club Lounge. Entry to this facility includes a free buffet breakfast to keep you energised for the rest of the day, as well as a complimentary afternoon tea complete with pastry and healthy fruit and not to mention the daily evening cocktail on your choice. After an exhausting day of meetings, feel free to wind down at the club with specially concocted drinks and canapés. Choosing the Club Room is definitely worth it if you’re looking for an upgraded stay in the hotel!
Upon seeing spacious the Club Suite, it certainly felt like home. This accommodation is located on the higher floors of the hotel, so you will be guaranteed a superb view of Hanoi. Relax in the adjoining living area or catch up on the latest news from the enormous LCD TV. After a soak in the lavish bathtub and a good night’s sleep, wake up to a spectacular morning view of Hanoi through the suite’s large full-length windows.
The Executive Suite is a step up from the Club Suite. The bedroom is airy and comes with a luxurious slip-proof bathtub. The suite also has a separate living room and dining room. These separate areas for living, eating and sleeping give the suite a home-like ambience, except in a more luxurious fashion! One other thing that this suite has is the mini-bar, which comes fully stocked with beverages. You can have iced coffee in the morning and wine in the evening — it’s totally up to you!
The Presidential Suite is the largest accommodation at the Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences. In fact, it’s more than double the size of the Executive Suite! Being the only room located on the topmost floor, the Presidential Suite offers unparalleled views of Hanoi through its floor-to-ceiling windows. We were glad to know that the Presidential Suite comes with a fully-equipped kitchen, perfect for days when you would like to make our own lunch while working. Plus, it even has a separate changing room and bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub looking exactly like the one in our dreams!
Besides the hotel rooms, Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences offers apartments to guests planning to stay for a longer period. All the residences have full glass windows, letting you enjoy as much natural light as you want. What’s more, you are guaranteed a home-away-from-home experience, with spacious rooms and fully equipped kitchenettes for your cooking needs.
The residences also have a separate entrance and reception from the main hotel. However, guests of the residences may use the hotel facilities, such as the outdoor pool and fitness centre. To boot, the guests can take advantage of the daily housekeeping service, 24/7 in-room dining, babysitting services, and even the in-house shopping service where daily essentials can be delivered directly to your apartment.
The apartments vary depending on your needs: Studio, One-Bedroom, Two-Bedroom, and Three-Bedroom. Did you know? Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences is the only hotel in Hanoi that features a serviced apartment with its own penthouse, too! The penthouse comes with five adjoining bedrooms, one master bedroom and a private garden. By the way, the living room and dining rooms offer direct views of the My Dinh Stadium!
To keep ourselves in shape, we would exercise in the fully-equipped fitness centre, which comes with a selection of healthy snacks and beverage options to complement our workout. Sometimes, we would also head to the in-house Lotus Spa, which comprises of an outdoor swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, and treatment rooms. We especially liked the floating Cabanas — the one and only in Hanoi — that provided us with a unique spa experience. This is also the largest 5-star Relaxation Zone & Spa in town. What could be better?
While we wanted to enjoy the local cuisine, we did not feel like leaving the hotel all the time in search of it. The Lackah Restaurant, which was right next to the hotel lobby, definitely fit the bill. We enjoyed a variety of locally inspired and international cuisines while enjoying the tropical ambience of the restaurant. On days when the night feels cooling enough, we would choose to have our dinner at the restaurant’s alfresco dining area.
In times when we did not feel like working in our own room, we would head to the Barista Lounge to use their large tables. While doing work or engaging in meetings, we would grab a cup of Vietnamese coffee especially brewed by the baristas. There is also an outdoor terrace where we enjoyed our cuppa while having our discussions. And, at night, we would hang out and relax under Hanoi’s night sky while having cocktails!
Having enough sleep is important for everybody, especially the guests who are always engaged in business meetings. That is why Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences came up with the Sleep Advantage programme. This unique programme provides you with a premium bedding experience, guaranteed wake-up calls, a pillow menu, and even an aromatherapy kit. To those looking at where to stay in Hanoi for a good night’s sleep, we would absolutely recommend Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences!#1
What truly won us over were the business facilities within the hotel. We wanted to hold a small business meeting with our clients, and the Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences replied to our request within two hours of notice (yes, you heard it, two hours!). The signature meetings team also provided a daily checklist to make sure that our meetings ran smoothly, and gave us the meeting room with outdoor views and all the little details as per our request.#2
To those who have green fingers, you will appreciate the sheer amount of greenery upon entering Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences. In fact, it is currently one of the greenest hotels in Hanoi! Guests can enjoy cool temperature throughout the property, which is a real plus considering Hanoi can get very hot, especially during the summer season.#3
For business travellers like us, taxi is the most reliable mode of transportation to get around Hanoi. From Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport, it takes around 30 minutes to reach Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences. The hotel is also close to attractions such as the regal Presidential Palace and the picturesque West Lake, both of which are less than a 30-minute taxi ride away. Motorbike taxis are also readily available anywhere in the city.
Crowne Plaza® West Hanoi Hotel & Residences is located in the My Dinh 2 Ward, an up-and-coming area set to be Hanoi’s new central business district. Right in front of the hotel is the My Dinh food street, where you can find all kinds of local delicacies to have your fill. Also located close to the hotel is the My Dinh Stadium, the largest stadium in Hanoi and home to Vietnam’s national football team. If you are lucky, you might even get to watch them in action here!
My Dinh may be located in the outskirts of Hanoi, but the city centre or downtown area is just half an hour away by car. For those interested in Hanoi’s multifaceted history and culture, there are plenty of museums around the city that will satiate your curious mind. If you only have time for one, a few must-visits include the Hanoi Museum, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, and the Ho Chi Minh Museum, located close to the mausoleum of Vietnam’s founding father, Ho Chi Minh. Looking for more? By all means, head to Quốc Oai District, where you can watch the coveted The Quintessence of Tonkin, Vietnam’s biggest cultural production!
Furthermore, you can experience Hanoi’s rich history in two of its most touristy areas: the French Quarter and the Old Quarter. The French Quarter, also known as Hanoi’s little Paris, is dotted with French architecture along with well-preserved colonial buildings. If you’re looking for a pseudo-European experience, head down to the Hanoi Opera House< and St. Joseph’s Cathedral, before ending off with high tea at a classy French-style cafe.
If French flair is not your cup of tea, why not grab some local coffee instead? Located north of the French Quarter, the Old Quarter is a reflection of Hanoi’s alternate past as a traditional Vietnamese town. See local craftsmen (and women) flaunting their wares, or beat the heat by drinking Vietnamese iced coffee in one of the many cafes!
