Located close to Melaka’s hotspots, including the city’s largest mall, Hatten Place Melaka is both hip and innovative. Not to mention, it’s home to the tallest viewing deck in Melaka, Sky Deck @ Hatten City. We must say, going there was definitely the highlight of our stay! Considering this is Hatten Place’s smallest accommodation, the Superior Room is rather spacious. It already comes with a double bed, a 40-inch LED television set, and an in-room safe for keeping your important belongings! Enjoy your view of the city or courtyard right outside your window.
Just a few square metres larger than the previous room, the Superior Plus Room lets you see unbeatable sea views without having to leave your private space. It also features an individually controlled air-conditioning unit, a generous work desk, and an LED television with selected ASTRO channels!
Travelling as a small group? The hotel’s Deluxe Room is ideal for you. It has a cosy day bed, plus you have the option of requesting an additional bed for better convenience. The room is also equipped with a 48-inch LED television and coffee and tea making facilities.
Available for the Superior, Superior Plus and Deluxe Room categories, connecting rooms give you the option to customise your stay. Enjoy a total space of over 41 sqm, two units of LED television sets, and rain and hand showers. Needless to say, you also get twice the number of sightseeing options through your room windows.
Experience maximum VIP treatment with a separate bedroom and living room at Hatten Place’s One Bedroom Suite. In addition, there’s a separate bathtub and standing rain shower! All 20 units offer a panoramic view of both the city and the sea. From our experience, any of the two sceneries does a good job at helping one recharge from an action-packed day in Melaka (or prepare for one).
Keeping yourself entertained while staying in won’t be a problem at the expansive Two Bedroom Suite. It has three LED televisions set up in different areas of the accommodation. It also features two bedrooms giving you and your fellow guests better privacy. This made it the perfect choice for our group of four during our short visit to Melaka!
Taking from the words of travellers before us, you can’t just leave Melaka without having a local food tour. Home to local and international cuisines, Thyme All-Day Dining is the idyllic spot to begin that journey. This 320-person facility is open from 6.30am to 11pm, leaving you plenty of time to indulge in their flavours. For coffee addicts, head straight to Coffeevine at the ground floor of the hotel. It is home to some of the best coffee in Melaka, and its cosy ambience is conducive for having laid-back conversations or meetings. Don’t forget to try either of their Snow Espresso or Snow Chocolate!

Before checking in, we had the impression that Hatten Place was a place built exclusively for leisure. As it turns out, the hotel also takes pride in its business facilities. Depending on your needs, you can choose from one of their seven function room categories. Equipped with the latest audio-visual equipment, each function room proves to be a valuable choice for your out-of-town meetings and events. What’s more, they can accommodate up to 250 people!
Be a guest of the hotel and you get free, unlimited access to one of Melaka’s most coveted attractions, the Sky Deck @ Hatten City! Located at level 44, it is Melaka’s tallest viewing deck where you can have a 360-degree panoramic view of the city. It also houses four dining outlets: Gales, The Drift, Aromas Coffee Club and He' Feng Chinese Cuisine. All of them are open daily!
At Hatten Place Melaka, you don’t need to spend hours to travel to the closest nature park or mall. With its clever positioning in Hatten City, you get both within a matter of minutes. Sometimes, you don’t even need to leave the hotel thanks to the panoramic views offered from each of the rooms, as well as the Sky Deck!
You might ask, is there even such a term? Apparently, in this particular hotel in Melaka, there is! All it means is that you book one of the One Bedroom Suites, take a late afternoon dip in your bathtub overlooking Malacca Straits and, through the massive bathroom window, watch the sunset at the same time! Talk about total pampering, right?
Hatten Place Melaka is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Melaka City, roughly 150 km south of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. There are two common ways of getting here. One is by simply flying into Melaka International Airport. The other is by commuting through Kuala Lumpur itself. If you’re taking the latter option, first, make your way to KL Sentral Station. From here, take a train to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan or Bandar Tasik Selatan via the TBS Station. Walk to the terminal and ride the bus to Melaka Sentral for about two hours. If you’re carrying more than one piece of luggage, we recommend hiring a taxi to Hatten Place Melaka or pre-arranging a pick-up service with the hotel staff. As for getting around the city, Melaka offers a variety of public transportation options, including buses, taxis, and trishaws.
The city of Melaka can be quite busy anytime during the year. And most of the happenings are often easily accessible from the hotel. For first-timers, be sure to check out Jonker Street, just a couple of kilometres away from Hatten Place Melaka. This bustling area is home to Melaka’s very own Chinatown, Jonker Walk. It is the most famous spot for shopping and dining on a budget.
For history buffs, it only takes a few minutes of walking to get to historical landmarks like Porte de Santiago, Malacca Sultanate Museum, and St. Paul’s Church. Or, you can just take the complimentary shuttle services of Hatten Place, which goes around the city at select times of the day.
