With Portuguese, Dutch and British influences, Melaka City was proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of Malaysia’s most culturally distinct destinations. On top of buildings that date back to the 15th century, the city is home to a number of modern hotels and attractions that go well with the more upbeat crowd. One notable hotel is Hatten Place Melaka, the youngest of the Hatten Hotels Worldwide properties.

Just a few square metres larger than the previous room, the Superior Plus Room lets you see unbeatable sea views without having to leave your private space. It also features an individually controlled air-conditioning unit, a generous work desk, and an LED television with selected ASTRO channels!

Experience maximum VIP treatment with a separate bedroom and living room at Hatten Place’s One Bedroom Suite. In addition, there’s a separate bathtub and standing rain shower! All 20 units offer a panoramic view of both the city and the sea. From our experience, any of the two sceneries does a good job at helping one recharge from an action-packed day in Melaka (or prepare for one).
Keeping yourself entertained while staying in won’t be a problem at the expansive Two Bedroom Suite. It has three LED televisions set up in different areas of the accommodation. It also features two bedrooms giving you and your fellow guests better privacy. This made it the perfect choice for our group of four during our short visit to Melaka!
Taking from the words of travellers before us, you can’t just leave Melaka without having a local food tour. Home to local and international cuisines, Thyme All-Day Dining is the idyllic spot to begin that journey. This 320-person facility is open from 6.30am to 11pm, leaving you plenty of time to indulge in their flavours. For coffee addicts, head straight to Coffeevine at the ground floor of the hotel. It is home to some of the best coffee in Melaka, and its cosy ambience is conducive for having laid-back conversations or meetings. Hatten Place Melaka is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Melaka City, roughly 150 km south of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. There are two common ways of getting here. One is by simply flying into Melaka International Airport. The other is by commuting through Kuala Lumpur itself. If you’re taking the latter option, first, make your way to KL Sentral Station. From here, take a train to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan or Bandar Tasik Selatan via the TBS Station. Walk to the terminal and ride the bus to Melaka Sentral for about two hours. If you’re carrying more than one piece of luggage, we recommend hiring a taxi to Hatten Place Melaka or pre-arranging a pick-up service with the hotel staff. As for getting around the city, Melaka offers a variety of public transportation options, including buses, taxis, and trishaws.
The city of Melaka can be quite busy anytime during the year. And most of the happenings are often easily accessible from the hotel. For first-timers, be sure to check out Jonker Street, just a couple of kilometres away from Hatten Place Melaka. This bustling area is home to Melaka’s very own Chinatown, Jonker Walk. It is the most famous spot for shopping and dining on a budget.
For history buffs, it only takes a few minutes of walking to get to historical landmarks like Porte de Santiago, Malacca Sultanate Museum, and St. Paul’s Church. Or, you can just take the complimentary shuttle services of Hatten Place, which goes around the city at select times of the day.
As mentioned, you can also visit the Sky Deck @ Hatten City located at level 44 of Hatten Place Melaka; hotel guests are free to enter! And from Melaka’s tallest viewing deck, you can also visit the city’s largest indoor playground, Jumpers Land, and its largest mall to date, Elements Mall.
