The first of its kind in Bali, this beach glamping resort is your ultimate escape to nature!
Located in Northwest Bali, Menjangan is an island that embodies natural beauty and serenity. If you are like us who love diving, snorkelling and great outdoor exploits, staying at Menjangan Dynasty Resort is definitely your best bet in this beautiful side of Bali.
Setting foot on Menjangan Dynasty Resort for the first time was like being transported into another world because it was a total contrast to the busy city life that we live in. The tranquil blue waters complement the fine white sand that settles smoothly as we make every step.
We were fascinated at how they combined aesthetics and simplicity through the combination of wood, bamboo, and alang-alang structures. Add to it the ever cheerful and accommodating safari-suited staff who made our Bali getaway a memorable one.
Aside from the warm hospitality, what made our stay extra fun were the outdoor activities such as mountain biking, kayaking, trekking, bird-watching, diving, and of course, glamping – the resort’s trademark and the first of its kind in Bali! This glamorous camping experience allowed us to sleep, dine and live with nature without going far from the comforts of a modern facility. Yes, that’s what Menjangan Dynasty Resort is all about!
Beach Camp Tent
Lounging inside our 39.5 sqm Beach Camp Tent made us the most relaxed we’ve been in a long time. The tent was surrounded by lush growing trees in a scenic beach landscape. It was equipped with a neatly made queen-sized bed (you may request for twin beds, too!), a panelled wardrobe made of rattan, a desk, a desk lamp made from driftwood and seagrass, and an elegant leather jockey stool. Other room accessories include rugs especially made from goatskin, customised bedside hurricane lamps, wicker storage baskets, mini bar fridge, TV set hooked to a cable system and DVD player, and a picnic hamper used as toiletry holder.
The tent facility we enjoyed most was the bathroom that offered what they call a monsoon shower, which we thoroughly enjoyed every time we came from a dip in the calm blue waters of the Banyuwedang Bay. Also worth noting is how they incorporated the modest vanity unit equipped with a mirror and washbasin, plus a toilet separated by a bamboo screen divider into the tent’s bathroom.
Just outside our tent is an al fresco lounging area complete with a daybed and loungers. If you want more sun and air inside your tent, by the way, the tent’s sturdy South African canvas can be rolled up and the curtains can be drawn to the sides. Doing this would reveal a net that aside from allowing more light inside, will also protect you from possible unwarranted bug entry inside the tent.
One-Bedroom Cliff Tent Villa
Staying in a 61 sqm space while enjoying authentic Balinese hospitality is just incredible. The Menjangan Dynasty Resort’s One-Room Cliff Tent Villa is air-conditioned and complete with five-star amenities. You may also revel in the stunning sea view from this stylish abode.
To make for an ultimate refreshing stay, every One-Bedroom Cliff Tent Villa has its own 23 sqm private infinity pool adjoining an open-air viewing deck. And, unlike the Beach Camp Tent, the bathroom here is separated with a comfortable terrazzo soaking tub and monsoon shower. Lovely, isn’t it?
Two-Bedroom Cliff Tent Villa
At 82 sqm, the Two-Bedroom Cliff Tent Villa has more space and is best for bigger families or larger groups. It came as a surprise that instead of finding the usual two single beds in every room, what met our eyes were Hollywood twin beds in one room and a queen-sized bed in the other. Also, what made this villa even better was the curtain-separated sitting room in between the two bedrooms. It adds an illusion of more space and airiness to the already clean combination of light browns and whites, which dominate the entirety of the villa’s inside quarters.
It is a perfect place to either relax or to have a wonderful conversation with your loved ones if it’s too hot outside. As an added amenity, you also have an infinity pool to wade and splash about if you want some built-in water fun without having to walk to the nearby beach.
Enlighten yourself, relax, and be pampered
Menjangan Dynasty Resort is not just a perfect place for adventure, but it is also a place where you can relax and be pampered. Experience the meditative healing of yoga and feel a deep calm within yourself, or go on a relaxing spa session at the Pasir Putih Spa. The spa offers a variety of specialty massages and beauty treatments in the most refreshing way possible. The spa’s location on top of the cliff facing Banyuwedang Bay is the most idyllic setting for such a relaxation. Spoil yourself and your loved ones in the private Spa Pods facing the bay or have your spa treatment done in the spa tent with the same iconic view.
Indulge in a wide range of cuisines as you soak in nature’s bliss
Pasir Putih Beach Club & Bar offers an unlimited amount of dining and relaxation. The bar opens early in the morning at 6am so there is no way you will run out of gastronomic indulgence while in the resort. The menu includes Western and Asian cuisines which you may enjoy in many ways. Savour daily specials made from ingredients grown locally under bamboo cabanas or opt to sit on comfy bamboo chairs on the beach. You can also take a dip in the cold, turquoise water of the Banyuwedang Bay while looking at the fantastic view of the horizon, or simply swim in the main infinity pool that seems like an extension of the bay itself.
Indulge in a blissfully romantic dinner with someone you cherish
Menjangan Dynasty Resort’s hospitality is indeed worthy of praise. The entire Pasir Putih staff are more than willing to set a one-of-a-kind dinner for you and your special someone at your most preferred spot. Picture indulging in exquisite food under a starry sky with sweet background music – isn’t this your ideal date?
Engage in watersports and get transfixed by
Menjangan Island’s underwater world
Your stay at the Menjangan Dynasty Resort will not be complete without experiencing nature at its best. Through the resort’s Pasir Putih Dive Centre & Watersport, you may avail of the many exciting watersport activities such as kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, and guided diving sessions. You can also sign-up for a one-time Discover Scuba Dive or opt for a full PADI certification course.
During these sessions, your diving guide will show you the mesmerising underwater beauty of the island. Among these are the lush colourful coral reefs and marine species endemic to the area like the Mandarin Fish. Use your time here to see this prized underwater creature because this is the only place in Bali where you can actually see it.
Let the West Bali National Park and our avian friends
take you to another world
In an effort to save the Bali starling and the wild banteng from extinction, Taman Nasional Bali Barat or the West Bali National Park was created in 1941. The park’s 777 sq km land area, which covers 10% of the whole island, include forested mountains, lowland rainforest, mangrove forest, savannah, sandy beaches, and offshore reefs. These are the only remaining untouched areas on the island.
Because of the conservation efforts, the West Bali National Park thrived and has become the foremost biodiverse place in Bali. Included in its list of flora and fauna are 175 species of plants (some already endangered), and 150 species of animals. The park is also a sanctuary to 160 bird species, both endemic and migratory. Due to the density of birds in the area, the park is definitely a mecca for avian lovers. The park is also perfect for those who want to be one with nature through trekking.
Say “I do” to the love of your life in the most illustrious way
Dreaming of a fairytale wedding but can’t find a perfect venue for it? Cast your worries away, Menjangan Dynasty Resort is the magical place to be. The resort has ideal venues for your dream day. You can say “I do” on their well-manicured wedding lawn by the infinity pool, on the white sandy beach, or in the famed Wantilan pavilion. Their wedding package starts from US$ 2,145 nett, which already includes a one-night stay at the Beach Camp Tent, wedding decorations in the hotel area of your choice, sound system, wedding celebrant, wedding certificate and more.
The resort’s team of dedicated wedding specialists will ensure a memorable experience that will go beyond your expectations. So, all you need to do is mark that date, and Menjangan Dynasty Resort will do the rest.
The wine at the Menjangan Dynasty Resort comes from a local winery called Hatten Wines. The winery also produces Two Islands Wines, a collection of fine in-demand wines. The bubbly contents are extracted from the best fruits sourced directly from highly reputed South Australian regions. These wines are essentially South Australia in a bottle! There might be no perfect complement to the local Balinese dishes served in the resort than a local Balinese wine itself.
The resort has a soaring eco-friendly reputation
Did you know that this resort is only one of the few out there that installed filtered water stations to reduce the impact of plastic waste? Yes, the resort is worthy of praise for replacing plastic water bottles with their own reusable drinking bottles. This is why after staying at the resort for even just a short time, you know for yourself that you have left a lasting environment-friendly footprint.
Aside from your picture-perfect view of the Menjangan Dynasty Resort surroundings, you can also enjoy the sight of the distant Javanese volcanoes across the bay towering on top of other mountains. They are distinct among other ordinary mountains because of the smoke cloud cloaking their tops, especially the ones found in the Ijen volcano complex, a place famous for sulphur mining.
What’s in a name?
Did you know that the resort’s Beach Club, Watersport Centre, and Spa were all given the same name? That’s true! These facilities are all called Pasir Putih which colloquially means “white sand.” The name is a fitting tribute by the locals to the white sandy beach of the resort.

From the airport, you are in for an approximately four-hour drive via JI Singaraja-Gilimanuk route. You can also take the JI Raya Denpasar-Gilimanuk route, which is slightly longer than the first one. Give the resort a heads up on your arrival so you’d be advised of the best transport options.
Menjangan Dynasty Resort is located next to West Bali National Park, a protected wildlife reserve teeming with historical landmarks and wildlife that you can hardly see in any other place.
West Bali National Park is just a mere 20-minute drive from Menjangan Dynasty Resort. There, you can see first-hand the sonokeling trees which take a whopping 200 years to fully grow, and certain deer species, including the famous barking deer, the Javan rusa deer, and the mouse deer. You can also have the chance to see the long-tailed macaques, civet cats, black monkeys, and the last among the wild bantengs, the distant relative to the Balinese cattle resembling more of a deer than a cattle. Also, if you are an avid bird watcher, this place is definitely for you.
Bathe under the waterfalls that dot the area and head over to ‘Air Panas’ Hot Springs at Banjar and Banyuwedang Hot Springs for a refreshing dip. Go on an exciting vineyard tour at Hatten Wines Vineyards, or visit Atlas Pearl Farm where some of the world’s finest south sea pearls are grown.
If you otherwise want a piece of Balinese history, you ought to visit the Makam Jayaprana shrine. Legend has it that the local hero, Jayaprana, was led to his treacherous death by the very king who raised him. After winning the heart of Layonsari, the king got jealous of Jayaprana. The bitterness eventually led to Jayaprana’s untimely death. Instead of submitting to the king, Layonsari chose to end her life, and according to the story, they reunited in heaven. Images of the doomed couple are enclosed in the shrine’s glass casing.
If you still have more time, other noteworthy attractions that will immerse you in the local Balinese culture include the fishing village of Pejarakan, Pemuteran village, Theravada Buddhist temple of Brahma Arama Vihara, Pulaki Temple, Melanting Temple, Pabean Temple, and Puncak Manik Temple.
