Your very own private escapade to a blissful utopia
The Oberoi Hotel is a glorious utopia that sits right beside Ku De Ta in Bali. Surrounded by alluring tropical gardens with exotic flowers on all sides, one cannot help but be charmed by its beautiful landscapes. If that doesn’t get you going “Wow!”, this will. The property has top-notch amenities – an open air massage pavilion, gymnasium, tennis court and even a beauty salon!
Situated merely 500 metres away from Ku De Ta and about 9km from Ngurah Rai International Airport, it is in a prime location for anyone looking to experience the best of Bali. With not one, but two in-house restaurants, guests rave about its dining options! Coupled together with excellent service, The Oberoi Hotel boasts 14 villas with private courtyards, and 60 Lanai rooms with a terrace for outdoor dining.
With all these amazing features in mind, we were not disappointed upon arriving here for our holiday. The staff were delightful – dressed in their beautiful traditional outfit, they immediately tended to our bags the moment we entered their grand resort. During our whole escapade here, we were pampered by their excellent service and food. The peaceful atmosphere in the hotel coupled with the bustling nature of the nearby Ku De Ta left us with such a unique Bali experience that we wanted to come back the moment we left!
The Lanai rooms boast a bathroom covered in marble with an exquisite bathtub that was so enticing, we had to use it every night! The morning after, some of us would do yoga in the gardens while the others would relax on the terrace with complimentary Wi-Fi. On top of that, we could enjoy the peace and quiet as both the garden and terrace are completely private and walled off.
We were surprised at how spacious the room was – with each Lanai occupying around 55-60 square metres with your choice of a king-sized Balinese bed or Hollywood twin beds.
For those who desire ocean views, you can choose from the Lanai Partial Ocean View and Lanai Ocean View rooms instead. Equipped with everything mentioned above, the Partial Ocean View rooms offer a scenic view of the Indian Ocean from the terrace. And for the Ocean View rooms, you would have a stunning view of the Indian Ocean from your room AND in your garden.
Featuring villas with thatch roofs, staying in this room category was luxury in its finest form. Upon arrival, we were delighted to receive a complimentary bottle of wine. We could hardly leave the Balinese king-sized four poster bed in the morning and we took every opportunity to laze in it. On top of that, we were impressed by the many delights in our villa – an open-air garden, private courtyards, raised dining pavilions and private terrace, all housed within high stone walls.
Choose the Luxury Villa Ocean View room if you prefer to wake up to the gorgeous view of the Indian Ocean instead.
What we loved most here is no other than the private swimming pool right of outside our luxury villa. We jumped in anytime we wanted and enjoyed night swims under the bright stars while feasting on fresh, tropical complimentary fruits from the coffee table. Ahh, if we could only do this every single day.
The epitome of luxury living, we could not stop admiring the details in the room when we stepped in. From the sheer size to the artistic elements of the villa, it truly felt like we were living in a Balinese paradise by the beach.
Located directly on the beachfront, the villa is 400 square metres of paradise living featuring the Indian Ocean. The Villa’s kitchenette made it easy to host dinners added by The Oberoi’s room service and culinary team.
Right after that, there was nothing better than dipping our toes in our 8x5m private swimming pool behind absolutely massive stone walls. To end our fancy night in style, we simply could not resist taking a bath in the luxurious glass walled bathroom complete with sunken marble bath, followed by the best sleep of our lives in the Balinese king-size four poster bed.
Kura Kura restaurant is located inside the hotel so head on over to enjoy signature spicy Indonesian food and fusion European food. Dine in an open-air space under a traditional thatched roof in view of a magnificent lily pond, framed by intimate tables and Balinese stone carvings. Bonus: See if you can spot any of the cute turtles nearby nestled on the beach after your feast.
Luxury fine dining is just a few steps away. Located inside the hotel and featuring al fresco dining, the restaurant is known for its American Breakfast menu and its Continental cuisines. You will dine in the presence of rich teak wood under colourful Balinese parasols framed by tropical coconut, frangipani and hibiscus trees.
Directly translated into “Wood”, the first thing you will realise when you step into Kayu Bar is that it is rich with polished teak and wooden artifacts. Intricate flower designs are hand painted onto exquisite coconut pillars. Have a taste of their signature classic and contemporary cocktails, champagne and fine wines while being caressed by the sea breeze.
A unique feature of Oberoi Hotel, this place is a must-go if you are staying here. Experience traditional Balinese dance performances at this natural stone amphitheatre. Anyone can come visit to watch and learn from the relaxing Balinese performers bi-weekly. Designed in the style of a traditional Balinese palace arena, The Amphitheatre features a delightful water body, stone bridge and seating area for al fresco dining.
A Balinese experience is not complete without a spa. Luckily, The Oberoi Spa is nothing short of magnificent. We were enchanted by their traditional open-air pavilions, with views across private, tropical gardens and beautiful lily ponds. For those who are particular about the ingredients they use during spa treatments, you would be happy to know that the Balinese, Thai, Western and Oberoi signature treatments use only natural ingredients to cleanse, tone and refresh the body and mind.
Savour an exquisite, starlit dinner on the shores of Seminyak beach, while admiring breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and Bali’s dramatic coastline. Guests can enjoy a bespoke menu, designed in collaboration with the resort’s master chef, accompanied by soft, traditional Balinese instruments and the sound of crashing waves.
Located in eastern Bali, Tenganan used to be one of the most secluded areas in the Indonesian archipelago. Nowadays, it is an interesting area to visit and observe indigenous Balinese Aga traditions, ceremonies, ancient customs and architecture. Visitors can also experience gamelan selunding musical performances and purchase geringsing double woven textiles.
Unknown to many, there are ancient Balinese temples that dot the hotel grounds. In fact, the staff present small offerings to them daily. Explore the grounds on your own or with the staff and have a culturally enriching experience that you will never forget.
