If you’re looking for a perfect escapade from the hustle and bustle of city life, look no further than The St. Regis Bali Resort! As the only all-suites-and-villas resort in Nusa Dua, the resort is famously nicknamed the “Garden of Bali” due to it being generously spread across 9 hectares of tropical gardens. The resort offers both a luxurious beachfront stay and a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean, and is truly a feast for the eyes!
We arrived at The St. Regis Bali to a dazzling view of the private alabaster beach, which is accessible only by the resorts’ guests. We entered through a magnificent rainforest gate, which ushers visitors through a grand flourishing of Balinese torches and gazebos. The resort’s contemporary Balinese interior further heightened the sense of elegance conjured by the floral patterns on the floor – we seemed to be in an art gallery of sorts in every direction that we looked. The combination of traditional architecture and grand trappings impressed on us the feeling of warm hospitality; we felt inexplicably welcomed, and yet ready to be pampered at any moment.
Stepping foot into the Gardenia villa felt like entering our own private world. Each room is decorated with traditional materials, cultural artefacts and fabrics, giving a residential lived-in feel to the entire villa. Besides a spacious walk-in closet, the bedroom has an extra set of doors that opens up to a poolside patio. Keeping these doors open allowed us to not only enjoy the night breeze, but also to get a running start into the private pool whenever we felt like having a dip! The traditional gazebo is perfect to laze in, be it after a swim or for after-dinner drinks. We spent countless hours lounging on the comfortable cushions and basking in the tranquil atmosphere.
The best part of our experience, however, was the amazing butler service. As with all other rooms, the villa has a separate butler’s quarters, which allowed us to have our own personalised butler service. On our arrival, the butler gave us a tour of the villa, and went about unpacking our luggage. It was great to have our very own personal assistant, who catered to our every need. We were completely pampered beyond belief! The butler was super friendly and felt much like family throughout our stay; we were really reluctant to part at the end of our holiday.
The St. Regis Suite draws a balance between cosiness and luxury, offering large rooms immaculately adorned with magnificent paintings. We love all the space given to us, and were astounded especially by the huge marble bathroom with an oversized bathtub.
The Ocean View and Pool versions of the Suite gave us even more reasons not to leave the resort; with a spectacular view of the Indian Ocean from our own respective private balcony and a private plunge pool – how could we even bear to leave?!
The Orchid Suite redefines the definition of luxury by offering an expansive wooden deck on top of its already spacious rooms. The wooden deck is accessible from both the bedroom and the dining room, where we could take a lazy nap on its wooden pergola or have a romantic candlelight dinner at its dining table.
We even used the outdoor space for our morning yoga after an extremely comfortable night’s rest in the suite’s soft bed.
The Grande Astor Suite would be perfect for families seeking the ultimate luxury experience. The suite offers both beach and garden views, along with a spectacular outdoor deck with an infinity pool. There is even an outdoor dining area, which is perfect for relaxing meals with the family. To top it off, the suite even has a piano which thrilled the inner musician in us. Child guests between ages 4 to 12 has complimentary access to the Children’s Learning Centre as well, which offers half and full day programs designed for children’s growth and enjoyment.
Along with a gazebo, private pool, wooden patio and airy bedrooms, the Lagoon Villa provides private access to the sparkling waters of the resort’s saltwater lagoon. We were able to switch between dipping in our private pool and floating lazily on the vast blue waters of the lagoon with ease, which was great! The Two Bedroom version caters to family vacations, with an additional bedroom and complimentary access to the Children’s Learning Centre for child guests.
It was difficult to keep our jaws from dropping as we sauntered about the Strand Villa! With direct access to the resort’s pristine beach, the villa redefines the meaning of luxury. The bedroom even has a direct view of the oceans, allowing us to wake up to a picturesque view of the sun rising above the Indian Ocean. For families wanting the perfect vacation, the Residence version provides an additional bedroom and complimentary access to the Children’s Learning Centre too.

Unbeknownst to many, the resort’s private beach has long been a favoured place for Bali sea turtles to lay their eggs during mating season. In the morning after the sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand, the hotel staff collects these eggs to keep them safe in the resort’s specially structured turtle hatchery. Visit to view these baby turtles and if you are lucky, you can even help to release the baby sea turtles into the ocean!
